Meth Sampling and Remediation Services
What is Meth?
Methamphetamine (meth), a popular recreational drug, is a potent central nervous system stimulant. If you suspect meth is present at a property you own, manage, or use, leave the premises, and contact a trained professional to determine if meth is present. Because meth is so hazardous, it is crucial to work with trained, experienced professionals who have the training and equipment, and follow strict protocols aligned with local and state regulations and guidelines, to test, remediate, then confirm the property is safe to use.
Affected Properties
Meth can is commonly found in a wide variety of properties where meth was made, stored, or used.
- Rental homes
- Owned homes
- Commercial rental units
- Commercial buildings
- Vacant properties
- Vehicles, including cars, trucks, vans, RVs, etc.
- Public facilities, including housing units, community centers, government buildings, etc.
- Properties linked to crime scenes
- Properties being sold or transferred
Meth Sampling and Testing
If you are unsure whether meth is present, sampling and testing will outline if meth is present and where (floors, walls, ceilings, etc). The final step in testing is an assessment report. We use the assessment report to create a remediation plan. Meth is a dangerous, and potentially toxic substance. Sampling is conducted by our trained team wearing hazmat suits.
- Initial Assessment: We do a preliminary inspection to determine if meth contamination is likely, based on the history of the property (e.g., former meth lab, previous occupants known to use meth), and whether there are visible signs of meth-related activity.
- Surface Sampling: We take samples from various surfaces (floors, walls, and ceilings) to help determine the extent of contamination.
- Air Sampling: We may take air samples to assess airborne contamination, especially in areas where meth was smoked or manufactured. Air sample results are essential for understanding exposure risks.
- Laboratory Analysis: We send surface and air samples to a certified laboratory for analysis. The laboratory and our meth remediation experts review the meth residue levels to determine if they exceed the safe levels set by local and state health authorities.
- Assessment Report: The assessment report details the extent of contamination and remediation recommendations.
Meth Remediation
If meth is present at a property, it must be removed by trained professionals before anyone is allowed to return to the property.
- Remediation Plan: We create a detailed remediation plan outlining our cleaning and decontamination steps and methods.
- Cleaning and Decontamination: Our trained professionals wear hazmat suits and thoroughly clean all affected surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques. Decontamination may involve stripping walls, replacing carpets, and cleaning HVAC systems. We properly dispose of all material removed from the property.
- Verification Sampling: After cleaning and decontaminating the property, we collect verification samples and submit them to the lab to ensure methamphetamine levels are within safe limits.
- Post-Remediation Report: You will receive a final report documenting the testing, remediation steps, and verification sample results. This is your confirmation the property is safe to occupy.
